Full text | Abstract: Bleached kraft pulps made from 30 cm long hemp stalks, uncut hemp bast, and uncut hemp wood were prepared. Then the properties of these pulps and their fibres were analysed using the computer image analysis method. The results gave more exact knowledge of the fractional
composition and fibre attributes of this raw material and also allowed its suitability for papermaking to be evaluated. Furthermore bleached kraft pulps from hemp stalks cut into 3 – 6 mm segments and hemp bast fibres cut into approx. 3 mm segments were analysed by the same method. The results obtained were analysed and compared with the attributes of bleached birch and pine pulps. |
