Full text | Abstract: The aim of this study is to evaluate the energy consumption, in general, for open-end rotor type yarn manufacturing systems and to examine the energy consumption in a chosen spinning mill by considering available data including installed power as well as monthly and yearly energy usage. A simple theoretical approach for predicting specific energy consumption in a particular yarn type produced in the spinning mill selected has been developed. The results obtained by applying this model to a specific yarn have been compared with relevant values available in literature. |
