Thermal comfort refers to the maintenance of a proper relationship between body heat production and loss. Heat exchange between the human organism and its surroundings is a complex phenomenon
that depends on many factors connected with the human organism, climatic conditions of the environment, and the properties and structure of clothing. In this paper the most important factors influencing heat exchange between the human body and its surroundings are discussed. A Thermal Comfort Index TCI was elaborated as a complex characteristic of fabric from the point of view of its ability to ensure thermal comfort in given climatic conditions. The index proposed was applied to assess the textile materials chosen. |
