Abstract:

The article presents the problem of the safety of textile use, for example clothing products. Special attention is paid to establishing characteristics, which, in the consumers’ opinion, are important when estimating a product’s influence on a persons mood, health or even life. On the basis of the inquiry, the hierarchy of these parameters and the relationship between them were examined. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) indicated the appearance of strong connections between eight out of the eleven parameters analysed, describing the safety of clothing use with three separated principal components, which could represent the rest of the parameters concentrated around them. On the basis of the results obtained and statistical premises, it was found that consumers equate the safety of clothing use with their chemicalisation, sense impression and fibre composition.
