Full text | Abstract: The aim of this study was to analyse the elongation properties of polyurethane coated knitted fabrics in order to predict their behaviour using the regression models calculated. Seven samples of the knitted fabric, each coated with 3 different polyurethane coatings, were specifically selected. The elongation in the wale direction and breaking forces in the course and wale directions of the coated knitted fabric can be predicted and explained with the results of the elongation of knitted fabric. However, elongation in the course direction cannot be clearly explained. In addition to the elongation of the knitted fabric itself, the relationship between fabric thickness and coating thickness plays an important role. While elongation and breaking forces in the case of elongation in the wale and course directions of the coated fabric increase in comparison to the non-coated fabric, the elongation of the coated fabric decreases in the case of ball bursting. |
