Full text | Abstract: The problem of testing the transversal unevenness of yarns is presented, and the methods used hitherto briefly revised. The development of the impulse-acoustic method and its basic principles are described, in view of the differences in the stretching diagrams of single fibres and yarns. Details of the test stand and the methods of preparing the samples are presented. In order to demonstrate the advantages of this method, tests on some selected samples of various kinds of chemical yarns are presented, as are the possibilities of applying the new method in science and industry. |
